Our 3 Main Services

Community Mental Health (CMH)

The Community Mental Health (CMH) service is based close to the centre of Takaka township. This is a clinical service staffed by trained, registered, mental health professionals and is available to the wider Golden Bay community. The team also has two Community Mental Health Support Workers who work alongside Case Managers to provide Recovery-focused support to clients of the service. In addition to the daily service, the team operates a 24/7 crisis on-call service which is available after-hours and on public holidays. CMH is funded by Nelson Marlborough District Health Board.

Employment and Vocational Service (EVS)

The Employment and Vocational Service (EVS) is funded by the Ministry of Social Development. Staff work alongside the TWM DBT programme and CMH to offer a programme of supported vocational and employment interventions to clients with the aim of enhancing their quality of life and independence. The most public face of EVS is ‘Helping Hands’, a work agency providing paid, casual employment as a step towards permanent work.
