Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is for people experiencing high levels of distress in their lives and for whom hospital or community treatment has not met their needs..

People may have diagnoses of multiple and complex disorders, including Borderline Personality Disorders and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and typically have harmful behaviour when trying to cope with intense emotions and disrupted relationships.

Residents referred to Te Whare Mahana’s DBT programme have a current mental health assessment that suggests DBT is a useful treatment.
